The enclosure is rated to IP67, meaning that it is dust tight, with no ingress of dust permitted and watertight against the effects of immersion of up to 1m for 30 minutes. The cable gland, when fitted with suitable wiring is rated at IP68. The chart below describes IP ratings and how to interpret them. .. figure:: ../images/ip65.png :width: 500px :alt: IP Rating :align: center :figclass: align-center IP number description The ORB can be operated in temperatures between -40\ |deg|\ C and 85\ |deg|\ C however the internal Lithium-Ion-Polymer battery charging will be throttled at temperatures colder than -10\ |deg|\ C and higher than 40\ |deg|\ C. An internal gore vent allows for pressure equalisation between the interior of the enclosure and the environment meaning that the ORB can be shipped in non-pressurised environments such as some aircraft. Material Specification ---------------------- The enclosure and all fittings have been chosen to be resistant to salt spray and common industrial chemicals such as petro-carbons.
